Dawn breaks in the capital city of Srada. Archer Silver is briefed about some increase in gang and raider activity in the city. A top class spy, he is passed a contract by his mother to pose as an arms dealer and make contact with one of the cities local criminal gangs to pass of armaments and start learning more about them. Archer takes a hold of the 40 explosives to deal pass onto the gang, given some assurance that they've been disarmed. Archer pockets 6 and completes the deal, attempting to also romance his contact Ulla Zemke.
Across the town, two bounty hunters have arrived looking for their recent quarry, a smuggler by the name Bjorn Solari. Information gathering is slow but Andy Altman, a noble of some lineage, is able to procure a mount from a local merchant and parade it around the district. To curb the attention that they are drawing, Andy's babysitter Brie O'Brien wrestles the steed to the ground and proclaims that the noble didn't capture the steed himself. For displaying some prowess, the pair are approached by a citizen talking about the recent increase in crime seen in the poorer districts of the city. Both decide to take on the gang activity, putting off learning about their bounty and seek the lower districts as well as a place to repair their mechs.
In the waterways of north Srada, Tristan Karkov wakes up from a previous bender. Running low on drugs and money, Tristan contacts his old friend from the Band of Crows, Fox "Wilfred" Leath, about any upcoming jobs. Wilfred tells him about a recent job that's been passed down the to the Crows about simple delivery work; while not the most exciting work, it promises more opportunity for people sporting the name of the Crowns. He is given a number of bombs to disperse around the poorer district for his delivery.
Near the old barracks and government quarter, and old soldier and PMC, Damir "Petrov" Radonić, is resting after a recent mission and deployment. Seeking repairs for his mech he starts asking around and draws attention from some locals. Seeing the situation start to go south, Damir ducks into the allies and loses his pursuers. After some time, he lands in front of a repair shop run by the mechanic Victor Murakami.
Viktor meets with Damir and agrees to service is mech, but also notes that he's been running low on materials for his fabricator; deliveries of materials are lacking in recent months and parts are coming at a premium. During the repair process, a cloaked figure enters the shop asking for a quick fabrication to create a small casing for a bomb. Viktor accepts the job and works to complete it along side his other repair job. Shortly after, Andy and Brie both enter the shop and ask for upkeep on their mechs as well.
After being handed the bombs, Tristan does some investigations and realizes what they are. He attempts to disarm them, but in his failed attempts learns two things: these bombs have some network activation capability, and someone now knows they've been tampered with. Tristan chucks his explosives into a nearby water way where they explode, damaging the structure. He attempts to get a hold of Wilfred to dispose of the other bombs, but fails to convince him to continue handling the explosives. Wilfred leaves the explosives at his last location, and Tristan moves towards his last location, with his mech following behind.
In a small research lab a scientist, Cvetanka Solverson, is running her lab when she receives a delivery. She is asked to sign for a package containing new materials for the lab. Opening the box she finds a large box, containing a black substance that when manipulated, appears as a cloth like material. Any time to inspect the material is cut short as a number of cloaked figures stream into the lab. The figures demand any recent packages and deliveries before assaulting the research staff and leaving explosives to detonate when they don't find what they want. Surviving the explosion with the package damaged and partially missing, Cvetanka departs the research lab with a station security mech to brave the streets.
After finishing the repairs for all of the mechs, Viktor completes the case for the explosive that was requested. Not long after, the device is remotely activated and Viktor rushes to throw the charge in an abandoned building near the back of his work shop.
Nearby, Archer accompanies Ulla through the Tanlan Market to oversee elements of the operation before moving on to next phases. During the ride, some bombs that Archer had previously stashed start to activate and Archer disposes of them by throwing them at the steed that Andy had previously bought. Ulla, being surprised by the operation hitting so close to the area she is patrolling, leaves Archer and goes off to determine what is happening with the operation.
Now in the same area, the party starts to be harried by enemies sweeping the streets of the district. They clear the area of any enemies and, using previously gained information that the source of the signals controlling the explosives comes from underground, make for the sewers under Talnand. The team finds the Communication Nexus and after clearing out some infantry and a Commander for the raider gang, extract the device from the sewers.
After escaping the sewers, the team starts investigating the Communication Nexus. A quick investigation from both Tristan and Cvetanka reveals that the nexus was operated manually by someone in the sewers but was later set to continuous autonomous operation after the network was compromised. The team decides it's safest to take the nexus to Archer's spy agency.
After deciding on who to pass the Communication Nexus to, the team splits up: Tristan heads toward Bayside Devom to contact Wilfred about his contract, Archer, Cvetanka, and Viktor head towards the JMR Headquarters to start work on the investigation, Brie and Andy start an investigation into their bounty Bjorn Solari, and Damir enters the Yolpaif Circle to speak with his previous military contacts.
Tristan phones Wilfred about the contract he got to deliver the explosives around the city. Tristan learns of two of the people who promised some notoriety for Wilfred and other Crowns members for a contract, Karla Corwin and Tyrel Ocano. After exchanging information and some Manna, Tristan notes the increased attention they are receiving in the bar, and makes a quick exit.
At the JMR Headquarters, Archer hands the nexus over to his mother and works to better grow his organization. Viktor uses the agency's R&D lab to further his mechanic skills, and Cventaka questions the organizations members for a potential mole.
Asking questions of members of JMR, Cvetanka is lead to a person by the name of Fraldy Nera. Cvetanka questions Fraldy and after learning they took a cash bribe for passing inspection on the explosives, she grants him a momentary amnesty in exchange for access and information and some access cards to their nobility contacts.
Archer takes the afternoon to get a drink at one of the local bars before passing out in the nearby park, and Viktor continues to work with the JMR engineers to further tune Widow to be combat ready. Tristan takes some time to lessen the attention he's getting from the noble faction by inciting a riot among the workers from Bayside Devom. To appease them, he is required to loan the some materials from his mech along with his NHP.
After sufficiently preparing, Archer's mother, JMR, gives the team their next mission, run reconnaissance near the Idealist base and try to figure out what their connection to the Meccovian monarchy is. Taking some resources and new specifications from the agency, the team makes their way back to Viktor's workshop.
In the mean time, Tristan enters Viktor's shop to remove parts to satisfy his deal with the industry workers. After entering the workshop where his mech to check on his mech, Tristan hears an unfamiliar voice speak through his NHP. The voice speaks about an incursion that is in process and to seek out the information at its source. Tristan hearing the voice moves with a new found clarity and fashion a new set of devices for his NHP's casket in his mech.
With new resources, Archer, Cvetanka, and Viktor come back to the workshop and find Tristan, and start making preperations to start a recon operation and the Idealists' base.
After meeting back with Andy and Brie, Archer, Cvetanka, Viktor, and Tristan make their way to the Idealist operating area of Centermont. Archer attampts to run reconnaissance and without alerting the Idealists of his presence, finds the source of the signal to be from an abandoned factory near the south western end of the docks. Archer meets back with the party and they begin making their way into enemy territory to find the signal source. After a short battle, the team makes their way into the factory.
Inside the factory, the team finds a mostly stripped down facility containing: a single production line producing Omnihooks, a large mini-reactor used to power the facility, and a number of containers holding a black fluid similar to the once Cvetanka carries. The facility is also guarded by a small contingent of Idealist troops and one elite officers. During the combat, Tristan makes note of a strange similarity between the officer's mech and the feeling he previously had when upgrading his own.
During the course of the combat, the containers of black fluid start to leak and coalesce into machine similar to the officer's mech, Echos in the image of his frame. While the combat is taking place, Damir, is taking time to investigate the state of the city. While asking around and trying to speak to past contacts he learns of some of the trouble the city is facing. There is unrest in the city from the constant stagnation. While the trouble in the city has been noted, the Monarchy has stated that they are currently more interested in the current affairs of the city. Rumors are circulating that the Monarchy is attempting to clamp down on criminal activity in the city first and foremost before dealing with any other issues. After learning more on the city's affairs, Damir starts to make his way to Centermont and joins the rest of the team in the middle of combat. After focusing on the elite's mech, Tristan makes his way to the reactor's controller to see what can be done with it. Using the machine he starts to power down the section of the facility that is bringing power near the containers spawning the Echos, allowing the rest of the team to gain control of the factory.
With the threats dealt with, the team starts investigating what they can in the facility. Tristan attempts to find more information about the reactor powering the facility and and any records between it, the Idealists, and the Nobility. Digging through the records, he uncovers uncovers a manifest of SSC goods that are being brought into the system for the nobility, and they match both the reactor and Communication Nexus they previously found. While continuing to pull records, Viktor starts to power down the facility while Archer investigates the reactor chamber. While in the process of finding an entrance, Damir starts to starts shooting at various parts of the facility's walls and equipment, grazed by a stray shot, Archer see an opportunity in the damage to enter the reactor chamber. Inside, he find that a number of the components in the boxes used to maintain the reactor are composed of a similar liquid to the machine they previously destroyed. To stop other members of the Idealists from entering the factory, Brie, assisted by Viktor, falsifies an All-Clear to the garrisoned troops who are questing the noise in the facility. With the final bits of power in the reactor's computer, Andy attempts a "Hacking" maneuver with the support of Tristan, with no experience and no way to properly interface with the machine, it is broken during the attempt, but he is able to uncover some files detailing the final operation that the previous Idealist Commander, Ulla was to be sent on before command was transferred to a nobility backed commander. Not wanted to draw any more suspicion, the team exits the factory in preparation for future operations. To seal their escape, Viktor, Brie, and Andy set explosives and blow up the facility as they make their exit.
Now outside the facility, the team starts to wind down and prepare for future operations. Archer attempts to bolster his organization while Viktor starts a project to better optimize the resources for his machine. Brie and Damir wind down by touring different bars in the north districts and attempting to learn some more information. Andy accepts more contracts to pass the time and while apprehending some small time criminals, overhears information about a new player running with the Idealists by the name of Altert Murphy.
With all the new information, the team starts to make new plans for how to investigate their leads.
With new information in hand, the spends the day running tests on the mimicry fluid received from the Idealist and comparing it the sample that Cventanka had received
on the day of the first attack. After running some tests at the JMR agency, both Cvetanka and the scientist note the substance to be of a similar worldly material that NHPs are constructed from, or at least sourced from a similar system. To better combat new potential threats, more resources are allocated to the team, and Viktor sets about starting to upgrade the teams mechs.
Across the city, Tristan finishes his meetings in Bayside Devom and makes his way towards Viktor's shop when he notices a man in a lab coat enter the Oracle Brewing company. Following after the figure Tristan finds Fraldy Nera, a previous engineer at JMR drinking at the bar. Seeing an opportunity, Tristan recruits Fraldy into the Band of Crowns as of his "cooks" before leaving at making his way back to Viktor's shop.
Prior to finishing his bounty work in Centermont, Andy observes a number of suspiciously dressed figures patrolling the district. Asking some locals, he learns that they belong to one of the investigation squads of the Crowin family. Not wanting to attract any attention, Andy quickly leaves Centermont and makes his way to Viktor's shop in Talnand.
Entering Viktor's shop, Andy finds Tristan in the mostly stripped down building tearing his mech apart while chanting various mantras and phrases. While Andy attempts to make conversation and shake him out of it, Tristan isn't deterred and doesn't break his stupor until his mech has been completely remodeled. After coming back to consciousness, both of them discuss the current dealings in the city and Andy's encounter with the Crowin investigators. Tristan informs him of the past connection with the Crowin and Ocano families and the small contract they had attempted with the Band of Crowns. Putting the pieces together, they decide to launch a plan to infiltrate a party hosted by the nobility.
While others are working, Damir is spending time closing out a bar in Schad Heights, he spends his time drinking until he is kicked out of the bar and heads towards Viktor's. Drunkenly stumbling in and hearing about their plan, Damir offers some information on noble parties and military galas that are commonly hosted in Yolpaif Circle. With a target, Tristan starts hacking into local registries and forging identities for the team to enter the party. After accessing the registry, Tristan implants some basic identification for all his team members, he also ensures that Andy's identity, that of a local baron has additional documentation and backing to cement the falsification.
With a set of identities in place, the team reconvenes at Archer's spy agency to find a noble party to infiltrate. They land on a party occurring at the Hyacinth Residence. Before the party starts, Archer attempts to run some reconnaissance and determine the layout of the building. In addition to locating the generators at the back of the building, he detects a large power draw from the east side of the second floor. Satisfied, the team then enters the party, attempting to infiltrate the network and get more information out of the building. Before, starting their information gathering, Tristan hands a small information server over to Archer to plant during the operation.
Andy spends the duration of the party on the chatting with guests in the main hall accompanied by Viktor acting as a stand in body guard. Speaking with guests and showing off some tricks, he learns about the host of this party is the Crowin family and they've been said to be more aggressively hunting gangs and raiders in the cities.
While Andy is making himself a known entity at the party, Archer uses the camouflaging
capabilities of his suit to find the room he identified previously. While he was able to identify the correct room, the path was guarded by a set of Crowin Enforcers. Archer calls Tristan to make a minor distraction. Tristan calls one of the guards away from the door and gives Archer enough time to enter the guarded store room. Inside, he finds the entrance to a storage room and slots in Tristan's custom server after downloading a set of access records from the network.
During Archer infiltration work, Tristan is escorted to the game room where he speaks to one of the patrons to learn more about life in high society, using Andy's cover as an out-system baron, he starts speaking of some of the off world colonies that are being created to solve Srada's population and resource issues.
With his mission successful but trapped, Archer call for another one of his companions to create a distraction to leave the server room. Tristan, feeling courageous, attempts to distract the guards again and, while successful, is escorted to one of the servant rooms and made to rest by the palace guards. Though now more under watch, Archer is able to leave the server room with the backdoor installed. While the invisibility allows Archer to escape, the exit isn't unnoticed putting security on alert. Karla, finishing up some other business at the party, greets the members at the guest hall before being called upstairs to where the disturbances are occurring.
Primary objective complete, Archer attempts to search the rest of the mansion. To circumvent the last guard patrol, Brie attempts to distract the remaining guards by screaming in the hallway, while this gives Archer enough time to slip into the last unexplored room, Brie is questioned by the guards and lead back down stairs to bring her benefactor back for questioning.
Back downstairs, Brie is short on time to alert Andy of the current situations, as he is brought upstairs to Karla. Archer, inside the last guarded room finds the first princess Lucia asleep in the room.
Viktor follows Andy upstairs as Brie is left with a location transponder to look for her necklace. Upstairs, Andy, posing as Richy Richmond the noble who brought everyone to the party, is questioned about the team's behavior. Andy gives the cover that he has done nothing of note at the party and his aides and friends are free to do go as they want. Karla insists that Andy gives descriptions on all of the people he entered the party with and gives an order to all security in the mansion to locate the current whereabouts of everyone described.
After a few minutes, Karla confronts Andy again about the disappearance of one of his servants, Archer. Andy gives an excuse that he must have been feeling unwell and left. Having no report of Archer leaving, Karla brings Andy and Viktor back to the Northern Lord's Office in Yolpaif Circle for more questioning and ends the party early. Arhcer uses this opportunity to leave the party unnoticed.
While Andy is being taken to the Lord's offices and being questioned, Tristan sets to work to further cement his disguise as Richy Richmond. He works to forge records for his home world "Planet Texas" and make it seem like an official planet under the control of the Karrakis Trade Baronies.
Inside Yolpaif, Karla pulls records from "Richy's" customs records and tries to validate the identities of him and the people he brought to the party. Andy offers a background for his friends, claiming their his friends who he brought in from outside the system. Due to their limited backgrounds from the initial hacking attempts, Karla comes to a set of different conclusions:
The Party have been illegally brought into the system by Richy
Richy is being used/taken advantage of by the party
Richy is aiding in a form of criminal espionage in the city
Andy assures Karla that they are just his friends and might be too eccentric. Karla then offers Andy an ultimatum, bring her and the investigators to his residence in the city so they can be questioned, or admit to criminal wrong doing. Andy agrees and starts to set off for Centermont. Viktor, who has been waiting in the district office for Andy posing as his bodyguard, is altered to the plan and informs the rest of the party before joining the escort with Andy.
While being taken to Centermont, the party sets up an ambush, and breaks Andy and Viktor away from the convoy before they reach their destination. With not much time left and the Crown on high alert, the team works to start taking down the New Idealist bases and curb their influence.
Working quickly, the team runs through the data available to them and identifies two different operating bases in Upper North Gidlat and Talnand Market. Taking the quicker option the team assaults the closer facility Gidlat.
The Gidlat factory housed both basic production and facilities for the Idealists. After a long battle, the team is able to take control of the building. After short discussions and deciding not the blow the building up, the factory is shut down and the team turns their attention tot the second facility in Talnand.
Entering the facility in Talnand, the team finds it mostly empty. No personnel are left in the facility except for a few guards a one notable person, the smuggler Bjorn Solari. Remembering his old contract for the smuggler, Andy rushes in to claim the bounty. While not a member the Idealist faction, Bjorn defends the base and is aided in a similar fashion to other Idealist leaders by composite frames produced by the mimicry substance. After disabling his mech, Andy pins Bjorn under his mech and starts to try and get some information out of him. After some minor questioning, he attempts to push the blame on his employers and gives some information on at least the source of the mimicry fluid, the colony planet Artos.
In the mean time, Archer attempts to shutdown the facility like others before him but fumbles the controls and releases a large quantity of the mimicry fluid out from the storerooms. Seeing his mistake, he quickly and quietly exists the building before Viktor takes to the controls and shuts down the lab. Moving to the store room to check, Viktor notes that the escaped fluid has found a way to seep out of the walls and escape the building.
After finishing up at the Talnand facility, the team moves back the JMR headquarters where Andy attempts to collect on his bounty. Not able to trust enforcement offices and persons in system, he attempts to contact an SSC representative to meet him in a neutral location in the city, Archer's old apartment.
The representative didn't give a name, but mention knowing of Andy's family for their supply of cows and other animals. While annoyed that the contact wasn't aware of his bounty hunting career, Bjorn was handed over and a contact was forged with SSC for any other information on their missing resources and research items. Back at the agency, Viktor and Tristan go over the data from the raids and attempt to pinpoint the location of the gang leader. Tristan allows Viktor to use his data stores and NHP to go over what was found, and find the base in Upper North Gidlat. The team sets up a surveillance feed and notes a series of regular patrols, but no other security from the outside. Damir attempts to do a light recon with Archer and while the building appears to be a regular residential building, a sizable number of workers can be seen exiting the building at certain hours.
To complete the infiltration, the team concocts a plan to pose as a cleaning service entering the building and have Viktor and Tristan's NHP provide support hacking remotely. Tristan uses his organization the Band of Crowns to acquire a cleaning van and uniforms and also sets about setting a, relatively shoddy, website to fake legitimacy.
The team infiltrates the facility and secures Altert Murphy in the process.
The team attempts to take down the Crowin house as a step towards restructuring the planets ruling system.
After a set or raids on Letvin and Crowin facilities, the team pulls back and the Crowin family moves in on JMR and the Band of Crowns.
The team successfully cuts off more arms of the Monarchy and the Crowin family. The new actions lead to the capture of rouge criminals aiding the royalty as well as securing some willing conspirators and populace support.
The squad took a few months to gather the necessary resources to initiate the REVOLUTION. With all the preperation in hand, the time to initiate the attack has come. First, the team attacks a few Crowin elite agents to reduce the forces they will encounter when sieging Yolpaif. After the operation, Tristan leaves a set of cryptic messages on the destroyed robots and Brie recieves a communication from Amber telling her that there are at least two agents hunting her for the equipment she had stolen for her. Relaying the information to her team, they proceed with the next steps of the mission.
The first step of the plan is to secure a set of MUNITIONS to be used breaking down the final door in the manor's INNER HALLS. During the operation, one of the two agents hunting Brie is encountered and destroyed. After securing the payload, the team works to take down the DEFENSE GRID around the manor. Team works together to take down the defense pylons surrounding the entrance to the manor. After a hard battle, they secure an entrance through the facility and, awaiting what's coming inside, they take a moment to REPAIR their mechs while having their entrance secured and reinforced in the interim.
After finishing a short repair, the team starts their assault into the halls of the manor.
Moving into the INNER HALLS, the team moves to take control of key reinforcement positions in the palace. After ensuring taking control of the zones, the team moves to get the MUNITIONS in place to enter the final INNER HALLS of the palace to confront the royalty.
After dispatching some forces guarding the doors, the team moves the MUNITIONS into position the team makes ready to assuault the INNER HALLS where the members of the royal family have taken shelter, before the team can advance, members of the Crowin defense take a last stand to stop their charge.
Withstanding the final charge, the team makes final preperations on the *MUNITIONS needed to breach the inner sanctums. With a final moment of respite before what could be the final charge, JENNE and THANA along with a crew of JMR agents breach the final chambers with MIMIR stock piles. After doing final repairs and checks on their frames, the team gets ready to blow the door and face what's to come.
Heading up the stairs, the team is stopped by KARLA CROWINdemanding that they cease their raid and restore order to Meccov. The command is rejected and a fight ensues in the palace. After a skirmish, VIKTOR disables KARLA's mech, allow the rest of the team to advance to where the sequestered away...
And BRIE tries and fails to root a tree from the palace's INNER HALLS...
After taking down Karla, the team confronts the royal family and arrest them. Tristan and Viktor set up a new temporary government institution to aid in the populace before Tristan's passing. Archer takes on a securities position in the new government and Cvetanka starts taking on a teaching position with the populace.
Andy seeks the aid of his family to secure food and simple resources for the planet while local supplies dwindle.
